Watercolor - Thankful PumpkinsI am so obsessed with Fall and creating Fall watercolor paintings.  I thought I would do a simple Watercolor Thankful Pumpkins project using only 2 Art Impressions stamps.

I have created my last few projects with pumpkins of some kind, and I am not done yet LOL.  Halloween and Fall are my favorite time of year (ahem, except for Winter and Snow…but that is for another post LOL).  There is a farm near our house that inspired this painting.  At the beginning of the season they had a few of their larger pumpkins in a field.  I went there the other day and there is now a sign and a lot more pumpkins.  It was a sign that I needed to get this done and do a video.  So of course, I did.

The pumpkins took the longest to do as I really wanted to take my time and get them looking really pumpkinny (…not a word).  I used Sepia to outline the pumpkins.  As with all paintings, I used a paintbrush and water to pull the color out of the lines.  I then used Brilliant Yellow to cover most of the pumpkin.  I then came back in with Orange and Terra Cotta to make the pumpkins a richer color.

I used the Vine to create the bushes of Autumn Leaves below and around the pumpkins in Olive Green, Orange, Brilliant Yellow and English Red. I added water to the leaves and some Sepia below them to ground them and VOILA.  Oh yeah, also I added some Wink of Stella and white gel pen to the pumpkins.

Once I finished the painting, I die cut the watercolor paper with my Gina K Designs Fabulous Labels Die.  I also use the same die to cut a mat in Dark Chocolate and Cranberry Tart card stock, also from Gina K Designs.  I popped this up with some dimensional tape.

The background is made with some Sweet Mango card stock mounted on Dark Chocolate card stock.  I used some Versamark Ink and a stamp from the Gina K Design stitched leaves mini kit to add some subtle interest.  I die cut the Thankful from Wild Dandelion card stock and the mat from Cranberry Tart.  The “For You” was embossed with White Embossing powder on a small piece of Dark Chocolate card stock.
