Hey there and thanks for stopping by on this fabulous Watercolor Weekend. I have been sharing some teasers on social media of this new journal I made with a Mother Goose theme for my post on the Art Impressions Blog. I shared a couple of pages over there, check out how I made them. Here is the entire journal.
Challenge: Think outside the box.
Introducing, my watercolor Mother Goose nursery rhyme themed journal.
I created the journal using the following supplies:
1 piece heavy cardstock for cover
2 pieces of heavy cardstock for 6 pages
Scrap watercolor or cardstock for clasps
19 pattern paper masks were die cut
(front, middle, back, 2 ea pages 1-3 and 8-10, middle 4)
9 finished paintings cut to 3.5 x 2.25
Cover
For the cover, I used a discontinued (sorry) set that has two geese on the stamp. I hand painted in the hat and bow. For the words, I used the small alphabet stamps. The journal is cut from Gina K Designs Peach Bellini cardstock.
I used the journal dies for the mats using the Easter paper pack. I printed the nursery rhyme with my printer and cut it down and mounted it across from the painting.
I hope you enjoyed this little journal that I really enjoyed creating. I am still trying to keep my “wonder” in my work.
Let’s see what you create by thinking outside of the box. I would love for you to tag me so I can see all your awesome projects.
This is so delightful and creative. I have been thinking about making a 12 Days of Christmas Journal but lacked the imagination for some of it. Now I am going to give it a try. Thanks for the inspiration!
Wonderful little book. Thank you for sharing. Your ideas are great.
Simply Adorable. I hope to get one made for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. She’ll love the pictures and the verses. Loves all books.
You did a beautiful job. Thanks for sharing. Edna
