Gimme that

Today I am creating this watercolor spring door using Art Impressions stamps and Marvy Markers.  This project uses a few of the new stamp sets that were rolled out the beginning of this year from Art Impressions.

Spring Door Card details:

Step 1 – The Door

Spring Door

Ink the door stamp with Sepia and stamp it into the middle of the watercolor paper.  Using a paintbrush, pull the color out of the lines.

Step 2 – Creating Texture & Details

Spring Door

Using the Slate Blue and water, I created a wash around the door to serve as a foundation for the bricks.  Then I added the brick texture to the left and right of the door using Brownish Grey.  Pull the color from below and between the bricks.  I used the African Violet to draw in the curtains in the windows.

Step 3 – Adding Flowers and Cobblestones

Spring Door

Ink up the cobblestones with African Violet and Sepia, stamp it in front of the door.  Pull the color to the outside of the stones.  Use a little color on the top of the stones to give dimension.  Add the small grass using Olive Green to the door step and around and between the cobblestones.  Using Sepia, I added some color below the grasses and to the sides of the cobblestones and underneath the grasses.  I inked up the left and right flowers with Magenta and Olive Green.

Step 4 – Flowers and Foliage

Spring Door

I inked up the new foliage (left and right) vines with Olive Green and stamped it along the sides of the door and at the top.  To create the flowers, I inked them with Violet.  I added some of the Violet to the curtains in the door.

Step 5 – Finishing Touches

Using my Misti stamping tool, I stamped the Gina K Designs “Congrats on your new home” with Versafine Black Ink.  Then, I mounted it on a mat made from Gina K Designs Wild Wisteria cardstock.  I mounted the entire piece on a white card base.
