The watercolor weekend design team is so excited to help Art Impressions roll out 6 new AI watercolor sets. I absolutely LOVE ALL OF THEM!!! I will be doing lots of posts featuring these new sets. This weekend I am debuting this Winter Truck. The stamp set is the WC Truck Mini set and it includes the truck, barn and a fence (not used). I also used the new WC Tree Set.
Winter Truck Card Details:
Step 1 – The Truck
I inked the truck from the WC Truck Mini set using Sepia onto Canson watercolor paper. Using my watercolor palette, I added Prussian Blue to the truck and Sepia to the tires.
Step 2 – The Snow:
I added African Violet to my palette and using my paintbrush I painted in the snow in the back and underneath the truck.
Step 3 – The Barn:
I wanted the Barn to recede into the background so the truck could take center stage. I inked it up with African Violet and stamped it off twice. Using the African Violet, I added some snow beneath the Barn.
Step 4 – The Trees:
I softened the lines and added a light wash of Sepia from the palette. I cut a mask and inked up the very top of one of the pine trees from the new WC Tree Set 1. I stamped it off several times and then stamped it multiple times next to and behind the Barn and along the snow bank. I used water to really softened them to create an illusion of distance.
Step 5 – Finishing Touches:
I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the snow around the truck. I cut the piece down to 4 x 5.25 and placed it onto a piece of Gina K Designs Turquoise Sea card stock cut to 4.125 x 5.375. Then I placed the entire panel to a top folding card base made from Neenah Solar White cut to 4.25 x 11.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you will join me, Dot and Tricia over at the Art Impressions Blog for Watercolor Weekend. Upload your projects on Instagram using #AIWatercolor and tag us, we would love to see your projects.
